The most successful Spanish player of all time, Rafael Nadal, has been awarded the first edition of "Premi Internacional Juan Antonio Samaranch”, which has been presented this afternoon at the Museu Olímpic i de l’Esport Joan Antoni Samaranch.
Albert Soler took advantage of his visit to Barcelona to speak to the press. He first expressed his thanks for the support received from the Catalan capital, while also confirming that the new Director-General for Sport at the CSD, the position which he himself previously held, will be Matilde García Duarte.
The IV Jornades de Prevenció en l’Esport have had a table of honor led by Francesc Sanahuja, president of Club de Gràcia, was atended by Mr. Felip Puig, -Conseller d’Interior- , Mr. Ivan Tibau – Secretari General de l’Esport-, Mr. Pere Alcober – from Institut Barcelona Esport-, Mr. Josep Monràs – diputat d’Esports de la Diputació de Barcelona and Dr. Montse Bellver, Director of the conferences and doctor of Sport in Centre d’Alt Rendiment Esportiu of Sant Cugat del Vallès (CAR-CST)
Xavier Camino, a member of the GISEAFE (Social and Educational Research in Physical Activity and Sport Group) was awarded the Ernest Lluch and Barcelona Olympic Foundation 2010 Bursary. His project, 'Skateboarding, City and Sport- Barcelona 1975 -2010' was presented at the Joan Antoni Samaranch Olympic and Sport Museum.
The 2011 Olympic Walk, organised by the Barcelona District Ramblers' Association, the Barcelona Sports Institute and the Barcelona Olympic Foundation, registered a considerable increase in the number of walkers taking part.
