The IOC grants a credential to those museums that comply with the established organizational norms, as indicated from Lausanne. The Olympic Museum located in Barcelona, known as Museu Olímpic i de l’Esport Joan Antoni Samaranch, is one of the nineteen official museums in the world. <\/p>\n
Usually, the meeting is held in Lausanne (Switzerland), host city of both IOC headquarters and the Olympic Museum. This year, due to reforms at the Museum in Lausanne, the organization decided to hold the meeting in Barcelona. <\/p>\n
For the city of Barcelona, it is a true honor to welcome the representatives from the Olympic Museums of the World, as stated by Maite Fandos, president of Fundación Barcelona Olímpica (Foundation), who welcomed the many representatives to the Saló de Cent (meeting room) at the Barcelona City Hall. <\/p>\n
