Considered one of the historic football clubs in Barcelona, CE Júpiter was founded on 12 May 1909 during a meeting held at the emblematic Cerveseria Cebrián, today known as Orxateria El Tío Ché, located on the Rambla del Poblenou. The main drivers of this initiative were the Mauchan brothers, originally from Scotland, who worked in one of the many factories that characterised the area at that time.
As football grew in popularity, David Mauchan brought a ball from the British Isles and encouraged his brothers and acquaintances to take up the sport, laying the foundations of the organisation.
