The Olympic and Sports Museum hosts the opening of the exhibition dedicated to the centenary of CE Júpiter

The Barcelona Olympic Foundation has inaugurated the exhibition “Club centenario: CE Júpiter” at the Joan Antoni Samaranch Olympic and Sports Museum, paying tribute to the historical and social legacy of one of the most emblematic football clubs in Catalonia.
The opening ceremony featured the participation of David Escudé, president of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation; Luis Quiñonero, vice-president of the Catalan Football Federation; journalist Frederic Porta; and Salvador Franco, president of CE Júpiter, who highlighted the importance of preserving the city’s sporting memory and recognising the role of historic clubs. The event was also attended by many CE Júpiter members, who joined the celebration, as well as Juli Pernas, member of the foundation’s board of trustees.
The exhibition, which will be open to the public until June 7, 2026, in the museum’s temporary exhibition hall, offers a journey through the club’s history. CE Júpiter was founded on May 12, 1909, at the historic Cerveseria Cebrián —now Orxateria El Tío Ché— in Poblenou. The exhibition brings together documents, objects, photographs and testimonies illustrating the club’s evolution, its deep ties to the neighbourhood, and its commitment to grassroots sport.
With this initiative, the Barcelona Olympic Foundation reaffirms its dedication to preserving Barcelona’s sporting heritage and recognising the organisations that, for decades, have contributed to building a more active, cohesive and healthy city.
