‘Olympic Day’

David Escudé, president of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation, and María Teresa Samaranch, member of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, received the members of the Barcelona Swimming Club (CNB) on this very special day. The delegation from the Club was led by its general director, Pere Carbó, and the Olympic competitors Eugeni Asencio, Toni Esteller and Sandra Azón.

The first session of the History Workshop this year, commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Barcelona’92 Olympics, was held in the presence of Manel Vila, Andreu Clapés, Josep Roca and José Cuervo.

In the Laribal Gardens at Montjuïc is the Font del Gat, a peaceful space containing a noucentista building by Josep Puig i Cadafalch dating from 1918. Since January 2017 this building has been the new site of the Joan Antoni Samaranch Centre for Olympic and Sports Studies.

The Olympic and Sports Museum Joan Antoni Samaranch has been the headquarter for the Opening Ceremony of the BCN Sports Film Festival which has been presided by David Escudé, President of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation and Sports commissioner in Barcelona’s town hall; Alejandro Blanco, COE President and Franco Ascani FICTS President.
