Art and sport came together once again this year at the Corte Inglés Àmbit Cultural gallery Portal del l’Àngel with an exhibition of the entries for the Barcelona Olympic Foundation’s seventh International Art on Paper Awards.

Miguel Ángel Martín and Javier Soler, respectively general director and sports director of the RSTF, have held a meeting with the technical sports directors of the various provincial federations with the aim of coordinating their forces and resources to promote tennis in Spain.

The conference included two round table discussions. The first was based on the history of the magazine Fórmula, with the participation of Mario Chavalera, Maria Àngels Pujol, Federico Van der Hoeven, Carlos Domínguez and Jaume Palau-Ribes. Josep Autet acted as moderator.

Changes to the Joan Antoni Samaranch Olympic and Sports Museum
The Barcelona Olympic Foundation has presented the updated version of its 3 main audiovisual displays, which had remained unchanged since they were inaugurated in 2007. The changes made to the Museum’s ground floor have also been presented, with an international photography exhibition and a collection of material, objects and items highly representative of the various forms of motor sport, which was already present in the Museum’s itinerary.

The torch was designed by the Brazilian engineer Gustavo Chelles, but it was developed for production by a cluster of Catalan companies that joined forces to carry out the project: Awa-premis, a firm specialising in designing and manufacturing medals, cups and trophies; Recam Làser, a metal parts manufacturer; Kromschroeder, a company in Hospitalet that makes gas meters and created the combustion system for the Barcelona’92 torch; and Taurus.
