Changes to the Joan Antoni Samaranch Olympic and Sports Museum

The Barcelona Olympic Foundation has presented the updated version of its 3 main audiovisual displays, which had remained unchanged since they were inaugurated in 2007. The changes made to the Museum’s ground floor have also been presented, with an international photography exhibition and a collection of material, objects and items highly representative of the various forms of motor sport, which was already present in the Museum’s itinerary.

The two main changes to the audiovisual shows involve the Ramp/Hall of Fame and the Final Auditorium. The updating of the content makes the Museum more dynamic, enhancing the quality and prominence of the material presented: a totally different and attractive way of explaining the world of sport and the excitement it creates.

Major points are that the exhibition space has been improved, the new supports have been adapted to ensure proper conservation, and a repository has been built to guarantee the quality of conservation, treatment and cataloguing of the Museum’s holdings.
