Social networks were the topic addressed in the morning conference held during the 11th Edition of the Olympic Forum.

Romà Cuyas, former Secretary of Sport; Gerard Esteva, President of the Sports Federation Union of Catalonia (UFEC); Santiago Siquier, territorial representative of the Generalitat and Marta Carranza, Commissioner of Sport of Barcelona City Hall, were in charge of opening the conferences of this 11th Edition of the Olympic Forum. 

 

Technological progress enables precision and control in sports

The afternoon session in the Olympic Forum spoke highly of new technologies and the wonderful possibilities they offer sports.

 

Grigoris Georgious, winner of the 5th Sports Graphic Humour competition, awarded his prize by Gerard Esteva, President of the UFEC, and Juli Pernas, director of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation

David Moner, Honorary President of the UFEC and Marta Claris, sports administrator of Barcelona City Hall were in charge for awarding the two prizes to Osvaldo DaCosta, and the representative of the Consulate of Indonesia acting on behalf of Armen Hamonagan.

 

 

Enric Truñó receives gold medal for sporting merit from Mayoress Ada Colau

Enric Truñó’s has had a long and productive sporting career. He is a world ambassador of the good work carried out in Barcelona as a city of sport and sports organisation.

Mayors, council members, senators, etc. went to Barcelona City Hall to show their admiration and give their thanks to Enric Truñó, who was thrilled by the presence of the former mayor, Pasqual Maragall.

 

Gustavo Chelles, designer of the Olympic and Paralympic torch for Rio 2016 and Xavier Costa Porta, director and owner of the Catalan company, Recamlaser, visit the Olympic Museum.

Less than a year to go before the Rio 2016 Olympic Games begin and governmental institutions are showing their interest in preserving the Olympic Legacy.

Juli Pernas, director of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation has received a visit from Hiran Gonçalves and Fábio Mitidieri, Federal representatives of Brazil and José Augusto Lindgren, the Consul-General in Brazil, in Barcelona.

With the aim of optimising resources for both entities, the facilities of the Olympic and Sport Museum Joan Antoni Samaranch will become a part of Open Camp – the first park in the world dedicated to sport, an innovative and technological project for sports lovers.

 

Rio 2016 arrives at the Olympic and Sports Study Center Joan Antoni Samaranch

The Documentation Department of the Rio 2016 Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games has sent the candidature file for Rio 2016, the reports issued by the IOC on the progress of the works and facilities, the publications about the Olympic villages and competition areas and the documentation about Brazil’s preparation for the 2016 Olympic Games. All this material will be available from September in the Olympic and Sports Study Center Joan Antoni Samaranch, at the Barcelona Olympic Foundation.
