Centenary Club: Club Natació Barcelona

From 18/09/2018 to 02/12/2018

Barcelona has witnessed the start of many different sports clubs in the time since regulated sports became a leisure activity. Many of these clubs are still in operation today. They are organisations that promote the practice of a range of sports at all levels at their facilities.

The temporary exhibition space at the Juan Antonio Samaranch Olympic and Sports Museum welcomes a photography exhibition from Club Natació Barcelona (Barcelona Swimming Club) showing historical images of this centenary club.

Club Natació Barcelona was founded in 1907 thanks to the initiative of Bernat Picornell and a group of friends who frequented the now-defunct Gimnasió Solé in Barcelona, where the entity’s headquarters were established.

Barcelona Olympic Foundation aims to recognise the existence of all clubs and organisations that facilitate the practice of sports in the city and, as such, has developed a programme of related activities, including an annual exhibition focused on a centenary club in Barcelona.

The exhibition is free with entrance to the museum
