La práctica deportiva puede resultar una herramienta para divertirse, para disfrutar de la naturaleza, para compartir con los demás momentos de esfuerzo y superación, y para poner en práctica la máxima -también griega- del “conócete a ti mismo”. La luz que captura el deporte intenta comunicar estas sensaciones mediante la representación de personajes anónimos que encuentran en el deporte la máxima revelación de sí mismos. Y ante la imposibilidad de desvincular el individuo de la acción que realiza, cada fotografía que ilustra un instante de tensión deportiva adquiere sentido con el retrato de su protagonista. Expresando, así, lo más íntimo que tan sólo una imagen es capaz de capturar.
Hidden behind the title La llum que captura l’esport (The Light that Captures Sports) is the etymological and semantic origin of the term “photograph”, a nineteenth-century discipline formed by two words of Greek origin: φως (light) and γραφη (writing). Thus, we can say that the notion of photography holds within it the concept of writing or drawing through the use of light. If we add that photography renders the miracle of reflecting a part of our life in a specific time and place, we can extract that recreating moments of people who practice sports means writing about them through light.
