The COPLEFC (College of Physical Activity and Sports Professionals of Catalonia) started its Photography Contest in 1999. Over its 26 editions, hundreds of images have been collected that invite multiple perspectives and interpretations. These photographs reflect the essence of the contest: highlighting the values and emotions that arise from the practice of physical activity and sport in all its forms.
Who is COPLEFC?
COPLEFC is a public law corporation representing professionals in physical activity and sport in Catalonia. Its members are people with degrees in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences (CAFiE) or official qualifications related to the family of physical and sports activities. Its mission is to defend the profession, act as an interlocutor with the Administration and sector agents, and promote healthy physical practice for the entire population.
The origin of the photographs
The contest was born as an open call to everyone, as can be seen in some of the exhibited images. Over the years, COPLEFC decided to value the professionals’ perspective, promoting participation more focused on its registered members. Throughout these editions, more than 300 photographs have been submitted, validated by an open vote among the professional community, from which finalists are selected and then judged to choose the winners.
