The Pink Panthers, to mark their 20th anniversary, awarded Maite Fandos, President of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation, the EuroGames 2008 flag.
Barcelona was the first city in Southern Europe to organise the EuroGames, an event staged under the supervision of the European Gay and Lesbian Sport Federation. The Pink Panthers rose to the challenge and successfully promoted the event, attracting more than 5,300 participants from 34 different countries.
‘CASCADA’ WINNER OF THE 5th EDITION OF THE BCN SPORTS FILM FESTIVAL
Maria Teresa Samaranch member of patronage of Fundació Barcelona Olímpica, was the person who gave the Àmfora Ciutat de Barcelona to the best film in the 5th edition of the BCN Sports Film Festival to ‘CASCADA’, a documentary by Anson Fogel and Skip Armstrong, and a production by Shannon Ethridge. Jordi Pujol was the guest of honour at the formal opening of the exhibition “Memories of Miquel Poblet” at the Olympic Museum.
Maite Fandos, President of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation; Ivan Tibau, Secretary-General for Sport; Josep Bochaca, President of the Catalan Cycling Federation; María Elena Pérez, Mayor of Montcada i Reixac and Josep Sahún, President of the Sprint Club and promoter of the exhibition and the tributes to Miquel Poblet, were given the task of contextualising the history and perspective of the years when Miquel Poblet was one of the leading sprinters in world cycling, and a key figure in the sport in Catalonia.
